I have to just say hello to this community. I'm new and never knew how great this game was until recently. The lore and the writing are exceptional. I really hope the dev sees this post because he is the GOAT. haha. I'll be purchasing Archaelund as soon as it's available. You have made a loyal fan in me : )

Game is hard, genuinely so. Gets easier with many repeat plays but your first playthrough is supposed to be brutal.

Yes, it's a hard game. This is why I like it
I started getting good after my 23,566,879th playthrough lolll. I've been playing for years, tried multiple different characters and strategies, and I'm still discovering new things.

Im a sucker for Rogues in any game I play : )
Ive read people recommending newbs to start on casual difficulty, but I started on Normal because I was under the impression that if I lower the difficulty for a fight, I won't be able to bring it back up to where it was. Is that right?

Depends on character, a Rogue can remain playable on Normal. But a Cleric or Warrior, you start levelling them in Normal there comes a tipping points of Traits, Skills & Equipment, then the games starts to become trivially easy.

You are correct, we can lower difficulty but never increase it. Playing at Normal is the best way to experience the game imo.

Rogues are a good challenge to play! They are a bit fragile, low on defense, but really versatile and fast. They can reach the highest damage output in the game! I usually play mages because I'm lazy, I like to send my summon do all the work for me lol.
