But here's the thing thou, you can have both 2H staff at max IV AND be an Elementalist. In fact, you would do well to.

Now, if by 2H staff you were refering to taking skills like Precision Strikes and Massive Criticals, I would have to strongly discourage you, as that combination SUCKS. If you wanna do massive ranged damage, take an archer Rogue.

With a Mage, Staff IV is basically a must (unless you wanna do some crazy feat like that guy in the video and defeat the *SPOILER* above), but for other skills you're way better using the awesome magical options the Mage has (damage spells or summons) than wasting points on Precision Strikes and/or Massive Criticals
