New things I really liked:
1: The troll. Stumbling across the troll without any advanced knowledge made for a genuinely fun first experience.
2: The new sea cavern was really well done. Compact, but with different things going on. The special aspect of the cave made the fights seem interesting rather than repetitive.
New things I need to check-out more:
3: Crafting and alchemy. Yeah, can't believe I skipped those.
4: Mage Companion. I think she would be more useful than the Hunter companion.
New things I liked, but really hated in the moment:
5: The 5 Yaksa raider fights. By Hirge's untouched bead! WTF! Five of them? First round landing three critical hits and 12 poison ranks on my bodyguard? That seems way too excessive for my poor Level 3 party with basic equipment. Maybe leave them till after the Lantern area....
Things I hate and will never quite forgive the Developer for doing.
6: The troll chest. Do you know how much time and energy and frustration I spent trying to get to, and unlock that chest? Only to find out it's empty. That's taking trolling too far.
Things I think need monitoring before v.1.00.
7: The skill system. It seems like the skill system is overall complicated with a lot of overlapping skills. This result is a confusing mesh of skill checks that pretty much ensure a player will fail too many checks for a fun experience, and too many major checks for a function game. (The block door in the final lantern is a good example, passing it gives a much quicker rest option, failing it pretty much ruins a playing session by having a tedious town trip for no other reason than to waste the player's time).
