Previous discussions went into more depth, but short version: don't expect an Apple update.
This has to do with Apple's curious rules for Third Party Developers, and compatibility issues with core aspects of the game with Apple's current standards. An update that would meet Apple's new requirements would basically require re-building the game from the ground up. In fairness, Apple defends the choices as a way to ensure it's billions of apps aren't security liabilities for it's phones.
The Developer is focused on his current game, which I might add, is well past it's initial beta-launch dates. Deadlines aren't deadlines unless you miss them a few times.
