Well , the wiki said that Undermother let you know that archmage descendant' s blood Is not so important and that you Need this acknowledgement in another quest maybe but on wiki Is not specified where and when , so I am waiting for know this basically

well, there is a trait check at a later point that you can pass as an alternative to helping the undermother, but it becomes a pretty high one depending on your character build and the level at which you finish collecting shards.
