Two followers

I've managed to end up with two people following me!

One is one of the "default" chars, the other a mercenary I didn't pay but who contines to follow me *as well as the default* through several scene transitions.

I have a backup to share

That is a feature. You can have a companion and a mercenary at the same time.

From description, it looks like a bug.

Mercenary should follow if we pay them (I personally don't use companions at all, except for special quest purposes). If we don't pay them, they shouldn't follow.

Of course, this begs some more explaining. Is it some "real" companion that follows, or mercenary that follows without being paid to do so?

In this instance I haven't paid the mercenary and the companion is already following. Worth noting the mercenary is next to useless and dies quickly, but he/she is definately following.

If you didn't pay, when/how did it start following?
