great game...after a few days playing I purchased the full version...But I try to play it the hard way, ie if I die, i start again from the beginning (already doing it in Gothic2, Night of the Raven).
Now i need some info for survival:
1) how on earth do you equip your follower with armor and weapons? How do you heal him? Does he heal when you sleep?
2) are there unlimited followers available in the game (ie if one gets killed, will another one be added automatically?)
3) is there a list of quests including how to solve them? (ie where the items/persons necessary are etc)

thanks alot in advance :)

1. Twp types of followers: those you buy in town and those you recruit through quests. The first kind is cannon fodder and can't be equipped/healed, they just die. The second kind, your companions, can be equipped, learn skills, the works. If you have a companion, they will heal when you sleep, you can click on their picture in the top left to access their inventory (shared with yours, but potions used with companion selected will use potion on him/her).

2. There are infinite of the cannon fodder type, but you shouldn't need them. Save your money for more important, longer lasting things. There are currently 3 companions available to recruit and develop.

3. Head to the wiki my friend.

If you use the Quest section heavily, let me know if there are any walkthroughs that are confusing or missing something. Its hard for me to tell how it reads by someone less familiar with things.

It is also worth noting that the hirelings also heal when you sleep. They're still pretty useless though. With a Companion, you can click on their face icon to get into their character sheet (the same way you do with your primary character.) From there you can equip weapons and armor, use potions, access skills and traits, and generally do everything you can do with your primary.
