The future of the exiled

I dont know how far i am to end the main Quest but i know my thirst for side quests, does ane one here knows if the devs are working in a misson on Mercia's west coast, or the old continent, or mission consequences for missions like "Lady of the night"?
I know they are working in the new 3d game (and i will probably buy it soon), but i would like to see more updates in exiled kingdoms. (btw, i still in LVL 19 of my "fist" campaing).

The new game "Archaelund" is about the old continent.
It takes place around 100 years after the events of EK, when the kingdoms begin expanding towards the ruins of the old continent and rebuilding civilization there.
So the continuation of the story doesn't take place in EK but in the next game.

Wooow, nice, but you know if the devs are planning to update EK with more quests?

The official position: No new updates are currently planned, but the developer reserves the right to make updates if the inspiration strikes him.
My expectation: New updates are extremely unlikely at this point. Due to an issue with licenses in the Apple app store, the game would have to be rewritten from the ground up in order to update. Even now, EK cannot be updated to 1.3 on Apple devices due to this. Personally, I think EK 2.0 is far more likely than 1.4, but that's just speculation.

If David finishes Archaelund and decides to make a possible EK 2 like you're saying, he'd have to come up with a brand new story, new mechanics, new gameplay, new characters—basically everything from scratch. That kind of game would take years to develop, and during all that time the community would be asking if EK is ever getting updates.

On the other hand, rewriting EK’s code is basically just rebuilding a game that already exists. Do you really think it’s easier for him to create EK 2 from zero?

If you think about it, Archaelund is already kind of like “EK 2.” And almost everyone playing Archaelund came from EK. So which game do you think they’re hoping to see updates for? Obviously EK.

It just makes more sense—updating EK is way easier than building a whole new game.
