The Ark (spoilers)

OK, I think I'm stuck. Found red, blue, and orange cards, got a couple barriers down, used 4 large batteries to get a trait point, BUT (1) I haven't found any of the cool drops I keep reading about (emp weapons/armor, the agility gloves, etc) AND (2) I'm out of batteries and even though the Steel Spiders respawn it seems like they aren't dropping any more batteries. Am I screwed, or what?

Not at all. The green card is downstairs in the generator room. If you aren't getting the drops/gear from the blue boxes, simply leave the ark, sleep for 12 hours and go back in. Everything will be reset.

The main level of the ark does not drop the chest armor and weapons. Only the generator level and the upper level.

Also, on a thread already tagged as "spoiler" I don't think you need to use further spoiler tags unless you're going to reveal the ending or something like that.

Update: I just had a chest piece drop from the 1st floor room with the device that converts small batteries to large ones.

Well it drops. I found 2 weapons and two rings in containers behind last barrier on main floor.

Anyway to get to them you have to get through reactor level so it doesn't matter anyway.

OK, just to review; red, blue and orange cards are all that are needed to get past the first level of the Ark... But also, is it true that the respawning spiders won't drop batteries, or are the batteries simply a rare drop?

if i remember well, first chest on the right bottom of the ark gave me cleric's armor when i opened it for the first time.. could be that i am in wrong..

I just checked the loot tables because my memory was obviously flaking after so many changes during testing.

Indeed the Conductive Vest can drop off any chest, but the chance is minimal on the "type 1" chests which are almost all on that floor. The other chest armors won't drop on those chests.
