Stuck in battle when exiting Devil's Horn if Sage Crabs not killed

At the beggining of the game I skipped the Sage Crabs at the entrace to the Devil's Horn because they were too difficult, and once inside the Devil's Horn I want to exit back to the beach. Once the beach area loads, if I don't press any button and wait a few seconds, the battle with the crabs will begin, but I will be stuck inside the wall. The crabs will take a few minutes to finish their turn, or the game will just enter an endless waiting. I can't move any of my heros from where they start, and only one of them if visible.

How to reproduce: leave the sage crabs outside the Devil's Horn entrance to live, go inside the Devil's horn then go back ourside and don't press any buttons until the fight begins.

Oh... now this is an unique challenge.

The fight is supposed to be unavoidable and is an one-time fight. Thus, having to worry about combat spawn issues LEAVING the dugneon was never considred.

The issue seems to be ensuring the trigger for the fight covers the entire area so that one can't sneak by in the first place.
