Yes you will still get stat points, but it isnt advised or even necessary to grind that high, the content coming in the future will not be for levels that high. Expansions will cover that. Grinding too much will make the releases too easy for you and ruin your game experience.

+1 to shanks.

Also, if you thought going through the teens to level was rough, after 20 the lvl requirements are astronomical. David intended for level 20 to act as soft cap, but all current content can be skillfully handled around level 15.

It is my understanding David still wishes to bridge the gap in suitable game play for lvls 7-9, so expect new content to include suitable things for that level range. This furthers the overkill of leveling past 20 for the foreseeable future.

You'll know you have a sickness when you're trying to avoid grinding with your secondary toons.

If you have only played through the game with one or two builds, change it up and see how much better you are at things. Or embark on the soul crushing endeavor that is getting an iron man through all the current content. Or see how far you can make it on hard only using potions you either find or make from orchids. Or run through the game picking the 'fight/confrontational' options with all NPCs.

From my quest work on the wiki, I can tell you exploring all the different convo options can put you in some sticky situations (a mad Undermother is a sight to see).
