That would make sense but tol is sane, and also how would he get godly powers, the terminal seems to only give immortality and the Oracle didn’t understand magic so they couldn’t have gotten there magic from the ark

Maybe it's one part of the puzzle. With immortality you have enough time for getting power

Could it be that he belongs to the Muud'ari?

The pointy Tool in Ark of Lothasan reveals something similar about immortality! So maybe they are part of this group or at least had access to the terminal?!
I dont think so. We know that all Muudari in ark crush and die. Other who use save capsule, live in Andoria. Man we have magic in this world, why someone cant become godlike without technologies?
Also dont forget about eleven. Tol says they become ascension. Like he. So I think there are some Other World full of gods. LOL

And the key word is "sufficiently"!!

Example: for the native people in South America during Spanish "discovering" (1692?), a simple european chemistry was enough to make them think Europeans were gods...

Everything is relative.

I agree with the theory that Tol's companions are The Three. There is further evidence to support this when you consider information gained from Archbishop Dilla, when question about "The Oppalan Frontier", the book from "... and the abyss gazed back". She says the book is about 4 adventurers, 3 of whom fit the description of The Three, who gathered the Nivurian Stones and ascended. However, she does not describe the 4th companion. It would make sense for this 4th companion to be Tol, and the book all but confirms that the Three were ascended mortals, as Archbishop Dilla has further dialogue about a priest who preached this very idea. This book would also explain how the 4 of them ascended, collecting the Nivurian Stones.

It's Numina Stones, the story about Tol and The Three is also related to Varranari Witches and the Sorceress Queen Syllara so in theory Numina Stones can be a source of Godly powers. A priest of The Three said that Nivaria sleeps under the lake after Xoladan died, maybe that is the meaning of "went insane" and not literally. Arbenos got ill because of Syllara's spell of doom, the only mystery left, what is the situation of Thelume? Where is he exactly aside from the fact that he is in the Palace together with Queen Silmarie?

tol is sane
That's a good point, but is Tol really that sane? Tol had a moment of clarity with the main character after being locked up for hundreds, or thousands, or years. That doesn't rule out him being crazy, mad with power at his prime. His own followers were afraid of him...
