So I'm wanting to start a warrior character and want to know if one handed or two handed is better and, what is the best quest/dungeon route to run to level and gear a tad quicker than the normal, as I've already completed most of the game, but I know someone has a better idea(s) than me, so input is needed!

The word "better" depends upon your playstyle, if you play on a defensive and safer aspect then build it as a sword and shield warrior otherwise two handed warrior is good if you think "offense is the best defense"

For dungeons in the early levels I suggest you to start in Ydaya Tomb, after level 3 you can go to Bandit Hideout, Kleyou Tomb or some parts of Nayau Tomb with some Sarcophagi and Skeletons to collect loots then sell(even better if you can get an Orcslicer longsword). At around level 6 to 9 your dungeon as a warrior is Urzuganar Lair because it is easier for you than venturing into Irazur Tomb. BTW tomb dungeons(specially for higher level ones) are better for ranged classes and the cleric so don't go there if you are lower than level 11 or you'll have more chances to die from Ancient Mummies.

Overall, there are several different builds for both 2-H and 1-H Warriors that are pretty awesome. Really, a player's choice.

The game is designed to be balanced so both 2-H Warriors and 1-H Warriors fair about the same, if their skills and traits are allotted in a manner that makes sense for their weapon choice (e.g. don't give 2-H weapon users a lot of agility).

That being said. In the early game, when overall stats are still a little low, 1-H warriors using a shield fair slightly better due to the higher defense. As better equipment and more stats points are available, that difference quickly erodes and the two builds become pretty balanced.

2-H warriors have really high damage outputs at the expense of having lower defense. The stun effect of 2-H Mastery is a nice little detail.

1-H warriors have some nice builds that can use both 1-H Weapons and Light Weapons depending on the situation. Also, the builds that use Flurry (Agility dependent skill) or Infantry Training can be pretty good overall tanks.

A lot of players will use a healer focused Hirge (without Might) to serve as a HP source to off-set the 2-H warriors' reduce defense. Hirge is also a good companion for any warrior build for that same reason. Grissenda, built as a shield user, can add extra damage and durability.

As an open world, there's no real "normal" so it's hard to compare quest orders to a baseline that doesn't really exist. Also, the random nature of drops can make a huge difference.

I've played through the game with every class, with different builds of each class, and even play through without a Companion. It really is about player choice.

Because how the game handles XP, fighting enemies at your level is a faster XP source than spamming a dungeon at lower than you. The trade off is that harder dungeons may require more work to beat. But in general, pushing forward in the game, rather than spamming dungeons, will have the fastest level gain. You make level 20 without ever repeating a dungeon. (It's a big world).

All that being said, for Warriors, running the first few dungeons (Lannegar Mine, Ydaya Tomb, Kleyou Tomb) gives a few early game drops (Orcslicer, Steel Great Axe) and enough gold to buy Chainmail, if not Platemail armor from New Garand. Alternatively, you can buy the Lightning Greataxe (3,600) pretty easily from Freetown. After that, between what you can find in dungeons or get as quest rewards, you're in pretty good shape. Low Level runs can get the 2-H sword Cruelty pretty early too from taking on the spider lair.

Oh, I'd be remiss if I didn't point that you can re-spec. Some players use 1-H warriors until the mid-game and than re-spec to be 2-H warriors to take advantage of the top tier equipment and skills that make 2-H warriors into monsters.

A slight variation of the above is starting the game using 1-H weapons and shields but not allotting any points to Shield Mastery or 2-H Weapon Mastery. That allows a player to quickly transfer to 2-H weapon builds without a re-spec.

Personally I’ve played all of the classes (although my cleric isn’t very high level) and I think 1 handed warrior is the easiest, but really it is a matter of opinion and how you play
