Hello

I neeeed Sonnet!! Is this a weapon I can get at lvl 16 and lvl 14 companion, or is that too low lvl to get it? Is it something you need to have a lot of other quests as pre reqs, or ridiculous trait checks, or fairly straight forward?

Thanks!!

What he said. Personally I'd go for the Stiletto instead or something, better weapon and easier to get too I'd say. Just find the secret door, bring a speed potion and a scroll of recall, gear up with some death resistance and maybe a potion too and then run in and get it and teleport out.

Unless you are a warrior I guess, but even then I'd say that Icicle was easier to get tbh and is also a better light weapon.

For reference, the stiletto is hidden in the Imperial Fortress over by New Anthur. It's in a chest behind a secret door. A few speed potions, maybe a invisibility potion, some health potions, and some basic death defense (potions or equipment), and you can run in, grab it and warp out. A scroll of detection might help with the hidden door.

Note: Some rouge playing characters like to dash off ASAP to get the stiletto as it's a pretty solid weapon (used to be a top tier weapon many updates ago). But, it's clearly out-of-game knowledge :)

Stiletto: An unique rogue only weapon, damage 3-8 (+5 death), speed 13, Vicious 2
Sonnet: An unique rogue and warrior weapon, damage 3-8 (+5 spirit), speed 12
Both are light weapons with comparable critical (7 for stiletto, 6 for Sonnet).

The Stiletto does more damage due to having a slightly higher speed, having Vicious 2 (+4 damage to enemies with less than 30% health) and a very small improvement in critical rate.

Sonnet is useful because it does never-really-blocked spirit damage and can be used by warriors. Sonnet --MIGHT-- get an increase to stats to help bring it into line with the newer game content, but don't hold your breath on it.

Agility weapon warriors tend to get better use out of the Icicle weapons.

I have regular Icicle not Primal Icicle, despite like 7 dragon kills (got Justice and Righteousness). I do propose at least make it no double loot from Dragons, especially if they are all different names, why should 2 drop the same loot?

Got 2 College Amulets, 2 Lightning Blades. Smh.

Also as a note I am primarily Archer build with stab 3 for extra dps. Guess im a dps build.

I wanted Sonnet for Gris actually. I have Icicle which is more dps than Sonnet. But my Gris is agi warrior 1h shield build. I guess I could go with Stilleto for main and Icicle for Gris, but I do want Sonnet, I just think its a cool weapon. I like to collect uniques. Except the real crap ones.

Only other thought was changing Gris to Str build bc there are some sick long swords that are good, and not light.

Thnx

I def need Sonnet bc of that spirit damage too. Best vs undead which are a lot in this game.

Anyone have easy tips to get it?

The link above explains in step-by-step how to get sonnet. The hard part might be getting through Bluerock Castle, but you should be high enough level to do it. Or you could use a few invisibility and speed potions to try to mad dash through the worst of it. Keep in mind you still have to beat the Nightwalker, a pretty decent ghost type enemy.

For clarity, weapons that deal bolt (or lightening damage) tend to be better against ghosts and undead than spirit damage. Heck, the Night Lord is resistant against spirit but weak against bolt. So bolt for ghosts, wraith and the like, fire for mummies.... check the Bestiary on the wiki for details: http://www.exiledkingdoms.com/wiki/inde ... e=Bestiary

The benefit of spirit damage is that while no (if any) enemies are weak against it, not many are strong against it. But the ones that are strong against it, are the ones you'd wish would be weak to it like devouvers, certain gem eating reptiles...

Sonnet really needs an upgrade because often by the time you can get it, you have a lot of things that are better. It's a good weapon to keep around just not really the best tool for any particular area.

Thanks for the response. Respectfully disagree a little. I do think Sonnet could use a slight damage buff, however for a 1h shield Gris agi build its perfect! Light weapon. The extra 2 arnor adds to her tankiness. The spirit dam being reasonably if not very useful. Idk from what ive seen other than Ark stuff its not a bad choice
