Sonnet need some love

Right now it has no tactical applications. There is no important mobs with spirit vulnerability and it's damage significantly less then stiletto or icicle. Icicle winch have a lot of specific applications is making it especially redundant. I suggest add some effect - stun or slow to it. Even better would be reduce base damage and add paralysis. There is no warrior-classed 1-handed paralysis weapon right now in the game.
Form the other hand Stunning Sonnet sounds very appropriate. May be it should be the upgraded version of Sonnet, like Primary Icicle.

I agree that weapons with spirit damage should have some kind of stun effect (spirit resistance is for protecting against that very thing after all), but I think you are missing the advantage of sonnet. While no mobs are especially vulnerable to spirit damage, very few have any resistance to it. It's less of a situational weapon and more of a standardized one size fits all.

I agree Sonnet should have some type of stun effect given it does spirit damage. Even it was a low chance.

Sonnet, as currently designed, is practically useless. While it's true that few (if any) enemies have a resistance to Spirit, by the time you get the weapon, you already have a stock pile of weapons useful for any imaginable enemy type....

Its still a favorite weapon of mine... But I agree with the logic of the stun thing... Its actually something I have considered in the past. Make it a property of spirit weapons that they have 1% stun chance per spirit damage point.

Also I feel like Sonnet is one of the hardest (and most enjoyable) (at least if you aren't using the wiki to guide you) weapons to obtain. So it is disappointing that stilleto outranks it.

When it first came out i was in love with it aswell.

I thought i finally found a good use for it , since the magma blade and iceicle were pretty ineffective against raptors. The first time were both of these weapons were not really good, but even the old Sonnet had the same damage reduce with the Spirit attack :cry:

Would be fun if it had a stun or paralyze chance. Even rouges have their stinger

Sonnet with a stun chance would be a great weapon for an agility build Grissenda. Stun + Cleave III would make great crowd control. For Archer build Rogues, that would make mobs sitting ducks.
