Questions about the latest update

I just installed the latest update and I haven't played for a long time so I'm not familiar with my character and strategy anymore lol. Anyway here are my questions:

1. How to trigger the new Hirge quest( and where)?
2. How many new quests( Is there a list)?
3. When I tried the arena I was told that if I had to fight a beast first and if I lost I might lose my equipments on the chest. (Is this true?)

1. Hirge's quest triggers when you wander with her around any of the capital towns. 3 vs 11 must be completed and you must be at least level 13

3. No, if you loose then you die. After the battle you will be in a room with a chest, all your equipment is inside there. If you leave that room without taking your equipment, then you loose it. But you get a warning before exit that room
