Any orc can drop them.

If you travel SW from Linangar you will find an Orc camp in the NE corner of the next zone. I always get one from there and I am long done with that quest.

Basically this. Plus you get lots of cash from killing orcs

Head to the orc dungeon, (pick up some red orchids Otw ) they drop a lot more there esp from the cooks

Am having trouble with this quest. Have cleared out the orc camp in S Bluemist River numerous times and just cleared out the underground lair (heh ... uses there must be a quest for that boss somewhere along the line), but nothing, not a single scrap of paper. Lots of old boots. But no plans.

Is is possible something ' s gone wrong in my save file?

1% chance off any orc, and a much higher chance (5-15%) in any orc chest. So in a single run through the lair, it is possible to have bad luck and not find any. Some people find it on the third orc they kill.

Hmm... Definately killed 100s of the blighters. Having the same bad luck with the luminous fungus. Hey Ho, so long as it's just the game having a personal grudge against me I don't mind

Check on your character details how many orcs have you killed please.
