Possible minor quest bug: Honor Among Thieves

Minor oddity or glitch?

In the quest Honor Among Thieves, I didn't get the option to buy off Nifuruc. Warrior, no guild affiliation, Int.2, Pers.2, retrieved jem bag from the river, had complete jem bag on me. Per Wiki (which isn't always correct or up-to-date), Either Int.2 -OR- Pers.2 required for option so it seems I should have gotten the option to pay rather than fight Nifuruc

I'm only looking into it because I'm trying to kill as few NPC's as possible as any NPC might be useful later (you know like not killing Rolf Ehrar in the first place).

My understanding (which might be incorrect) is that you have to kill one or the other NPC. Or if you don't want to directly dirty your hands you can turn rolf over to nifruc and they will kill him.

All my attributes are greater than 3 and I never saw any other options for quest resolution.

It's definitely possible to solve this quest without killing anyone. I got the dialogue to pay Nifuruc off as mentioned in the Wiki, but I can't remember the exact path to get there. The only thing I recall is that I hadn't found the leather pouch at this point and used my own jewels.

Nifuruc: In our line of business, no one believes (...)

You: I'll bring the gems (...)

At this point, you need either PER 3 or INT 3 to make him agree.

Per Wiki (which isn't always correct or up-to-date),

Wiki is work of users that want to help and give to community. Anyone can become Loreseeker and help build wiki. You seems to me like good candidate to help make wiki better.

Ah, there's the issue. The Wiki states " ... you need to pass a Personality 3 or Intellect 2... " so my Warrior's intelligence was 1 point too low.

I like the Intellect 3 standard.

For clarity, my comment about Wiki's is not always been accurate is meant to acknowledge the game is evolving. It's not a complaint about the Wiki. or the effort those put int it.

I have another problem in this quest. I tried to kill Nifuruc several times and I've failed every single time. The last time I tried to kill him, I panicked and went into the Seventh House. After I slept and got my energy full I went out but Nifuruc and his buddies disappeared. Since then I could not find him anywhere, so the quest is still uncompleted. It has been a long time. My level was around 11-12. Now I am 17. I don't know what to do. Is there anyway I can fix this?

Same problem here. Couldn't kill him, left to get energy up, came back and he is gone. I read somewhere else that it has to be night, but I have tried all over free town and the surrounding area between the hours of 2200-0400 with no luck finding him.

Is it possible he is elsewhere?


EDIT: I also opted for the conversation path to fight them right off the bat. Afterwards, I found the bag of gems floating in Nekhar Valley, I quicksaved right before I touched bag, it sinks everytime I try. So I left it floating for now.

Not really sure how to advance quest line at this point.
