Possible issue with boss spawn in frozen depths

I already completed the "A key to the past" quest using the fire crystal, and now I'm trying to get the ice crystal for the quest "The master's laboratory". I've searched all over the frozen depths, but i can't find the boss that drops the crystal. Is there some hidden prerequisite or level requirement to get it to show up, or is my game just bugged? Any help would be appreciated.

Weird. So the wyvern wasn't there at all last night, even after a quitting and restarting, but when I ran back this morningfor a screenshot he spawned back in ¯\_(ツ)_/¯. Don't know what stopped it from spawning last night.
