Oh oh... Android won't let me load my old saves

Hi lovely people!

I'm trying to load my old saves on my new phone, but to do so I need to copy/paste my old .BAK file into the Android Data folder of the game. But Android is now blocking the access to everything in the Data folder.

This Android restriction is effectively preventing players from importing old EK save files.

How do we get around this?

This does look to be a big issue.

Now it's much more complicated process. I have found this video, and it worked for me:



You will need to use "Files" (whatever that is), to copy EK.bak to and from appropriate DATA folder net.fdgames.ek.android for importing and exporting from file system.

For reference, "Files" (sometimes called "Files by Google" on the web) is Google's Android file management software. Part of the same default suite that includes Play Store, Wallet, Chrome, Photos, Gmail, etc.

Yeah, google restrictions are a huge pain. I recommend you stick to the cloud saves.
