New device challenge

Relates to the handful of recent broken device questions out there, I purchased a new hand held device today, nothing fancy, but it replaces an older device that has too many phantom touches. Now comes the fun of trying to navigate getting the new device up to speed.... Bad news is my old game files might be lost forever .... A few insane characters or builds that aren't possible by the current content. Alas. Plus side, is well, I get to have a new play though....

The old device doesn't have a USB port, cable port or anything else. And with the phantom touch issue (rapidly activates in one spot) it's almost impossible to do anything with the device as the phantom touch triggers menu options.

New device is syncing with Android account and doing new device update... let's see what happens after that.

If I can't get the old save files, I'll miss the more dominate characters and the Impossible Build ones that were used for testing the game (impossible Build because no longer possible with current design of game).

Well i saw on youtube that you can use Toothpaste i think to get rid of phantom Touches

Are phantom touches so terrible they don't even allow you to export to cloud?

The phantom touches are insane. It's almost impossible to even open any app... And given no place seem to fix phantom touches or screens... well yep, here I am. I'm actaully not too worried about starting a new game. A little bummed about the Impossible Builds as there was something nostalgic about them...

If you are a tester, at least you can get the automatic backups made when installing a test update. they're named EK_(some number).bak and should be accessible from USB.

If you wait a few days you'll get a new test update, if your device is capable of autoupdate and you can open the game once, a file will be generated.

Alternatively, have you checked if this is an issue caused by a screen protector?

Screen protector (and dirty screen) ruled out awhile ago. This has been a slow death for the device. Oddly enough, trying to find a place to replace it resulting in finding out the device type had issues with phantom touches when it came out, some type of manufacture issue.

The new device is doing it's first wave of updates and I'll try to make a go at exporting save files. I'm not a official tester, but do use characters to try out new content or variations. Worst case, I have an excuse to start a new character with the new content. Might give a better end-user experience as so much has changed in the last few update waves.
