If you give the Jesters Bow to a companion, they attract massive aggro from everything till they die. Minotaurs run around me to kill Adaon when he has that bow.

I have him set to attack on sight, and he does this just fine. I just think it's funny that these monsters are getting hit many times for little damage and ignoring my Executioner's Axe-wielding armored beast of a warrior.

Just thought I'd share my thoughts.

That is a very interesting observation. I also noticed that though thweopposite, as i have the bow and am firing away, monsters run past my companion to get to me. I had not thought to use that as an actual strategy until now but actually would make a good plan if you could get the companions chance for stun up high enough make it a viable stabber tactic as well.

I use this tactic to pull monsters out. Then I often get a free flank attack or two while they pummel Adaon.

Do you beef up hit armor with potions or anything??

I use a +10 Armor potion and load up on resistances for big fights. Then a 90 hp potion if necessary.

Not completely sure, but it looks that this is change in AI.

Now monsters (and I think also companions) first attack ranged weapon (actually, person wielding it), then everything else.

Of course, David is one to know if it is really so.

If that is true, any bow should cause something similar.

Similar but not nearly as effective. The jester bow will always him them before in attract their attention. A slower bow can't do that.

On my archer rouge it always happens no matter which bow you just have to kick them back from where they came from(companion) once she hits them again they aggro back to your companion almost always happens when you use rapid fire.
