Mage against werewolves

Hi all,
Just started replaying the game with a mage.
Question: how does a mage defeat a werewolf since they can only be killed by silver weapons?

Werewolves can be killed with regular weapons too, they are just highly resistant against physical damage from them.
So as a mage, your best option is to bring elemental weapons.
Either fire or spirit damage are your best options against them.

If you can load up on death protection, a abuse potion of speed, and use a scroll of recall/teleport, you might snag the Branch of the Holy Tree.

Your other earlier option is the Imperial Battlemage Wand on the Mausoleum Lich.

Otherwise better fire & spirit Mage weapons are the Observatory, Cauldron/Cove Bank, Temple of the Sleepers, Dragon drops, etc.

The Wand of Scorching and Cadecus of Scorching are early game options for sale in the wizard tower and Trader Pink in New Garand, respectively.

Staff of seas can be cheezed pretty early too, can't it? Scary as crap but doable

Most werewolves have no to low resistance to fire, so pure elemental wands/staffs can do well.

Note, Mages can also have a Companion, and a Summon to help.
