The troll is quite impressive, both visually and combat wise. It was a wonderful surprise.

I -imagine- a decent mythology score would let you know the secret to killing it, but I had to relay on guessing from EK lore. (Can someone confirm mythology score would trigger needing to killing blow to have fire damage?)

First fight, was caught off-guard, and it made a fun, and slow death. Party could do all sorts of tricks to keep it down, and stay alive, but without fire damage, was a foregone conclusion. I had no fire weapons, and the one person with a torch in their inventory was a mage (let's say he didn't fare well trying to hit the troll).

Second time, I was far better prepared.

It's also a fight where channeling makes a huge difference.

I tested it.

The troll has a Mythology Appraise difficulty of 11, which means it's impossible to fully indentify in the current version of the game.

So does the Player ever find out in-game that the killing blow to the troll must have fire damage?

That seems a pretty big thing to leave out?

@bpbp007 , you appear to misunderstand the statement.

The difficulty being discussed is not the difficultly of the troll fight, but the difficulty in the Mythology Appraise rating. The latter is what would allow a player to use in-game knowledge that the killing blow has to have fire damage.

Sorry, you were clear about in your post. Probably got distructed while reading it and carried away that the game would loose it's challenging part.
