Iron man tips...?

Got any? I’ve played “iron man” or hardcore characters before in other games, mainly Diablo and from my experience their builds and strategies are completely different than normal characters, such as: always use a shield!!

Any other iron man tips from more iron vets out there?

It's been a while, but I remember the summon wolf scroll quite helpful as it gave enemies a target to attack when you need to run because you got in over your head.

Cleric is the ideal Ironman class and intervention is a must, your bread and butter regardless of what type of cleric you are building.

1. Never get yourself crowded, and avoid large groups of rangers
2. Keep your hp in dungeons above half, especially if you can't deal with traps proffessionally
3. Find a way to guard yourself from stun and paralysis. Infantry training, blood rage, high spirit resistance, items with stun immunity will help you
4. Always carry some good healing potions in quickslot
5. Don't forget about defensive skills and equipment. Suicide is final in this mode
6. Don't get careless, never

The Scroll of Recall is something that you will always want to have on your person. Getting teleported to the nearest town is *usually* a way to safety. (I say usually rather than always since there is at least one town where you will regularly get attacked on the streets.)

Not to mention at least 3 dungeon spaces you can't teleport out of.

Yup, one of my Ironmen died horribly, because of that :s. This method isn't failproof. In one of those dungeons enemies keep spawning, and thus block the way out. Potion of speed + potion of invisibility could solve that problem
