For skills just study the rogue abilities using this link https://www.exiledkingdoms.com/wiki/index.php?title=Rogue
For companion: either hirge or grissenda (Adaon is pretty much useless at the beginning due to low health and not a suitable tank)
As for strategies it pretty much depends on how you distribute your skills points. Theres really not much strategies in this game, you learn as you go.

I usually go evasion, archery, 1 point in sprint, 1 point in trap, rapid fire, precision shot and massive crits, body development and then a mix of wards aswell as magic training
For stats 3 points in str, 4 points in endurance, 3 int, 2 per, and the rest agility and awerness
Companion hirge with a tank build so agility and per.

Archer build is one of my favorite, I did it on Ironman run 😎

Most important is, to keep distance to your enemies, get trap and kick at least to lvl 1.

Here my build (after killing horror on Ironman)

Most important is to get the wyrmslayer as early as possible, watch that video from me, it shows how to get it on low lvl and how to use an archer build.

Feel free to ask if you need more help, also check the inofficial discord channel, you'll get responses faster there, David and me are also there 😉

But I'm playing that game since 2017, so... 😉

Out of those skills, which should I get early on and which should I max as fast as possible?

Get stab first, it's very helpful on low lvl. Than go for evasion and speed (lvl1 is enough). At about lvl 5 you can start to max archery (before 8ts useless because you won't get good bows)

Also use meele and ranged weapons on low lvl and switch if necessary. Bows won't hit if enemy is too close

Thanks alot for all these tips, so far they've been very helpful. Just one last thing, would you make any changes if you were playing non iron man? Like in my case I'm playing on normal or should I run with the same build?

You can get evasion maxed later if you're on normal, rest is kind of the same for every difficulty. Till lvl 5 you will fight meele most times, so stab and evasion can be really helpful here.

Only change for Ironman would be to spend points at beginning in dungeoneering to find the traps, that's absolutely deadly for rogue on low lvl
