She is Gris, warrior. Warriors are bad archers. Gris is much more effective with your main char combination, shield and longsword.
Rogues usually use daggers.
Equipment advice, buy Explorer Gauntlets in Golden Hand.
Look at wiki, you'll find a lot of useful information and spoilers there.
Rogue class isn't recomended for new players. Warrior and Cleric are easier.

Rogue is a hard class to play, and a Rogue should NOT be using a Longsword. Rogues excel when they have high Agility and use LIGHT weapons such as shortswords and daggers.

Ginger Griss should be using the Longsword and Shield.

Another factor is the "Hard" difficulty is VERY HARD. There is no dishonour in going for the mediium difficulty on your first play, though honestly I found even the medium difficulty plenty hard enough when my (first) character was about 7th level but the game started to become a bit too easy by 17th level.

I strongly suspect your build and equipment, both PC and companion, need optimising too.

Hi @booze man ! Love your name haha

Welcome to the deadly world of the Exiled Kingdoms! This game is hard, it's what makes it great. It's a real challenge, nobody ever saved Varannar without breaking a sweat, a finger, losing an arm and a few vital organs. It's a harsh, unfair world. But once you beat the game, you'll be greeted as a true hero among us ;)

Rogues are very hard to play, and you're hitting the level-wall (7-10) right now. It gets easier once you survive through it. There are many different builds you could try out, to find the playstyle that fits your personality most. Here is my best suggestion!

- Use your companion Grissenda as a shield! Equip her with good armor and shield, maximize her HP and defense, and have her fight in melee (not with a bow). Don't focus too much on her offense, you need her to be tough. Learn how to bait your enemies by going close to them, then retreating a bit at the last moment. Grissenda will engage them in melee and take the blows in your place. She's tough, she can take it. Don't hesitate to make her use health potions during a fight, if needed. While she takes the heat, find a way to attack the enemy from a distance (with a bow), or with a sneak attack (stab them or flank them). If an enemy starts hitting you back, run away a bit until Grissenda becomes their target once more. Then resume your attacks. Try it, tell me how it goes!

(While your own HP are precious, your companion never dies. She will only faint like a pokemon, then wake up at 50% of her HP total. She's essentially immortal. Use it. Get her in the line of fire. Hide behind her. Push her into crowds of monsters if you need, she won't mind! Let her be the tank, while you deal the real damage) ;)

This game was fun, and thanks for teaching me, a dumb player that never played rpg in my entire life.
I getting hooked to it but when I reach level 8 i stop leveling up because I need the full licence.
So that means I cant use the cleric, dont worry I will buy it if I enjoy it enough.

Lol, that's your biggest mistake!

Gris is warrior, give her shield and sword

Rogue is made for bows (archer build) or light weapons (agi build) read the description for traits, agi gives +1 dmg per point for light weapons. Also shield is not a good idea for rogue.

I recommend you to play cleric or warrior first. Rogue is a bit harder to play than this 2.

I only have endgame characters, but you can use them as orientation for what skills or traits are important for what build.

Buying the game is really worth it. I've played the whole thing a... umm... 12 6648 83737393 times approximatly. :)
My favorite class is MAGE. It's super hard at the beginning, but at the end, mages can become true engines of destruction! They have the special advanced skill "Combustion", which literally makes you explode loll. It's sweet
