I feel like I'm missing something. Lvl 4 rogue. Im still on the first map and I can only make it through half a dungeon before running out of heals. I try to pull only one mob at a time. I wait between mobs for my stabby skill to come off cooldown. What am i doing wrong? Advice Please.

Don't know what you've tried so far, so here's some general ideas. Hope I'm not repeating anything too obvious.

Have you been keeping your armor stat and weapons up to date? With just store-bought equipment from Lannegar, you'd get at least 5 armor at little cost.

Get Grissenda ASAP. With a greataxe, and 1 point in both cleave and 2 handed mastery, you'll get some much needed crowd control support from her.

If you haven't already, you could do a quick rush to the boss room in Lannegar mines to get the sword of shock (remember to accept the quest 'Head Hunting'). That's a pretty decent upgrade at your level.

Here's a strategy for farming in general. If your 2 recovers are not enough to last you through the entire dungeon, just gun for the most profitable rooms first (hidden rooms and those with sarcophagi), then work your way into the less profitable rooms (e.g. rooms with no chests, or those with ghosts) till you run out of resources.

If you find the difficulty too high to progress, you could refer to this link http://www.exiledkingdoms.com/wiki/index.php?title=Challenge_Map for a rough idea of where to grind.

For armor stat progression, after getting the bare minimum equipment with armor stat in Lannegar, I suggest working towards these. They're free and will easily last you till level 10+. Leggings aren't included since there aren't really any significant free upgrades at your level range.

Torso: Hardened Leather Cuirass (Random loot in Ydaya Tomb sarcophagi, or 300 gold in Rhoneis), then Lionskin Cruirass (quest: A safe bet) in Rhoneis

Hands: Forest Chain Gauntlets (Quest: A mysterious Letter) in New Garand

Feet: Tolassian Chain Boots (Drop from skeletons in Nayau Tomb in New Garand Farmlands)

And believe me: this feeling of "making something wrong", this "missing something" situation you are facing now, combined with the joy you WILL experiment when you follow Roukan suggestions and tips, is what will make you fall in love with the game in a fraction of a second after you clear that first dungeon.
In other words: it is a quite CHALLENGING, and equaly REWARDING game. One of the best games I've played in the last twenty years - and believe me, I am quite an experienced gamer...
Happy adventuring!

Edit: English isn't my mother language, and I don't use translator bots, so... You know.

Yeah...I really don't recommend taking on the firedancer with the imps. It takes a bit of luck, but you could quickly take a peek into the corridor to the boss room and try to lure the imps into the previous room. The firedancer tends to stay far back in the room, so he shouldn't notice you if you keep your distance.

I'd like to add, I never intended dungeons to be a place you "clear" until you're extremely powerful compared to the monsters inside. They're meant to be dangerous places where you go to save someone, solve a mystery, etc then quickly escape when your business is done. Good playing can grant extra exploration and rewards, but don't feel bad if you need several runs to explore every corner.

Nothing. A Level 4 Rogue will struggle in the early areas.

Something that hasn't been said in this thread is getting a Companion. You might not have the gold for hiring a mercenary, but Grissenda, the warrior Companion, is only one map west. To get her, you just need to run into a dungeon and retrieve a ring. Can do it without killing anything (just run and dodge and run).

Oh, and take this, it's dangerous to go alone. You don't have to read the spoilers but the class descriptions might help.

1) Lure them out of the back room. Near the corner of the hallway, where the line of sight is blocked, tell your Companion to "Wait here" and "Very Close Enemies" that what she or he won't charge them. Than using a bow or creeping up to them slowly, attract the attention of one (or two) of the enemies at a time). Run back to the corner where your out of sight of the remaining monsters and attack the one that followed you. Your Companion should automatic attack. Heal as needed. Oh, and if you're not playing an archer, make sure to switch back to your melee weapon.

2) Use the Boots of Fire Walking (found on fire goblins), Gauntlets of the Forge (for sell at the village), and Fire Resist Potions (for sell at the village). That gives you a 55 Fire Resist, which will lower fire damage by about half.

While Head Hunting is available relatively early in the game, it's a step up in difficulty so a few bumps is expected. The reward is a nice and depending on your build, you might have it equipped for most of the early game (you or your companion).

PS: And Companions can use potions. Select their face and than use the potion. They can can heal and use Resist potions. Something I overlooked my first play through.

If you don't save or stay in an inn, healing at the priest, the monsters don't seem to respawn. At least for a few hours in-game. Ghost types do seem to respawn very quickly.
