Is Orc Lair the best atm? I want to buy a couple items that are expensive. This guy in Freetown has good gear for Grissenda and I want to buy that 14k rogue belt.

The "where to farm for gold or experience" question is asked a lot. There's been some pretty in-depth assessments over what dungeons offer the best XP or gold per hour of real time play. You might find them buried in the forum somewhere.

General rule: areas with more enemies provide more XP (more stuff to kill), areas with more chests or crypts provide more gold (more loot to sell). So not knowing exactly where you are in the game, I might suggest the Orc area near Kingsbridge, or Irazur Tomb in the desert. Those areas should be doable for you, even if you to escape now and than. Both areas drop equipment that might be better than what you have and can sell for a decent amount.

You can also try making raids into Nilomar Cape. The enemies there drop decent equipment for Griss, and if you get bold (and lucky) you could get an Ancient Fang from a primeval bear (might be a tough fight).

Running town hall quests can also be a quick way to earn extra gold and XP. You'll get the XP and gold from clearing the dungeon as well as from completing the town hall quest.

As a Level 10 Melee Rogue with Grissenda as a Companion, I might suggest moving forward with the quest progression as you'll get better gear while saving up for that must-have purchase.

Oh... have you done a sneak raid into the Imperial Fortress to grab the Stiletto? With a few potions (health, death resist, invisibility, speed) and a few scrolls (detection, recall), even a low level rogue can run in and grab the Stiletto. Might take some luck and a few tries at low levels, but hey, what's a rogue without risk?

So where are in the quest log? Have you complete the Fort Assault? Taken on the Spider Grotto?

As each player is different, what works best for you might vary.

Maze of Lamth!

I grind there always (lvl 8-15, first floor)

Single enemies, high drops, easy to reach from jabal and the alchemist (next to the gem guy) buys every item.

Hello, I am a rogue melee and at your level I would:
Mausoleum for brewing gold (with Hirge) or Castle Bluerock to make gold and exp, but the difficulty is a little bigger (Hirge or Grissenda) and you can still enjoy the quest Ancient Verses in the Castle itself and get the light sword Sonnet, great for Rogue medium level.

I'm doing Web of Shadows now. I'll do some main quest and get that Stiletto. Thanks again guys! I've been running minotaur lair a bit. Been going slow hoping for a secret door haha.

Edit: Ok will also look into Sonnet! I haven't come across any demons yet so not sure when I'll need Holy element.

Holy and Spirit are two different things.

HOLY, a weapon ATTRIBUTE, adds damage when fighting against UNDEAD
BANISHMENT, a weapon ATTRIBUTE, adds damage when fighting against outsiders (demons, elementals).
SPIRIT, as an weapon element type, adds element damage to every attack.

Spirit, as a weapon element, is useful because very few enemies are strong against it, making it a good all purpose weapon. The most notable enemies weak against Spirit damage are shadows enemy types.

As a light weapon, the Sonnet (3-8, +5 Spirit, +2 Def) is also good for agility build warriors and Rogues.

I just now tried to get the Sonnet, but the secret door wouldn't appear. I'm lvl 11 with 2 Per. I think I need to buy a Detect Secrets scroll? Will that be enough?

It took me awhile to find the Castle Bluerock, like an hour haha. I found Assassins Leggings somewhere, hoping I'll find more.

Awareness and Intellect trait is what you need to improve chances of detecting secret doors or traps. Personality is for gossip chance in the tavern.

Short answer. A Scroll of Detection is your friend here. It might take a few attempts as the secret door is pretty high level, if I remember correctly.

Things that increase your chance of finding a secret door:
1) Awareness. Each point of awareness adds 5% chance to perception.
2) Intelligence. Every 2 points add a 5% chance to perception.
3) Detection Attribute. Equipment that has a Detection attribute adds a 3% chance to perception per attribute level (stacks from multiple pieces of equipment).
4) Dungeoneering skill. Adds 10/18/25% for Level 1/2/3.
5) Level. There's a bonus / penalty based on the level difference between the player and the level of the secret door.
