I've been working on contributing to the wiki recently and I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts about when to use links on pages. For example, if an item gives +1 dexterity, should it be linked to the traits page (something like [[Traits#Dexterity|Dex]])? Or is that unnecessary? In other words, what should it be appropriate to use links? I'm leaning towards whenever there's a relevant page, but maybe that would be too cluttered or there's another downside that I'm not thinking of.

My personal approach is similar to your "whenever there's a relevant page", be it stats, quests, items, talents, spells or whatever. So I would link DEX in your example above (you can also use {{Traits/names|22}} for that pupose). Not because of the link as such, but because of the visual highlighting it provides. Sometimes this leads indeed to a cluttered appearance if many links are close together, but most of the time it looks ok for my taste.

Only when writing longer texts with repeated occurrences of the same subject (like character names in a walkthrough), I would link just the first appearance.

Of course, all this is highly subjective and other people might have different preferences.
