I’ve successfully completed this quest with my rogue and cleric with no problems. However, I cannot figure out why the gates remain closed with my current lvl 10 mage. I have identical journal entries and the diaglogue states they should be open but once completed they are still closed. This time I have already sided with the Golden Hand and started Key to the Past. Thoughts?

You have to revisit the loreseekers hall after resting at the inn. This oddity has been reported in the past

For clarity, which gates? Not all the gates in the library of the Golden Hand open up as there are parts of the Golden Hand's headquarters that aren't in the game.
A common solution to gates not opening on que, or NPC's not appearing, is to stay at an inn to have maps reset---deals with how maps are generated.
