Forgotten Lore Quest

I picked up the forgotten lore quest, went through the whole level, found the body of the lore master but found nothing. Looked on forum to see what i have missed, learned that the body suppose to have a journal. Went back through looking for journal. No journal. How do i complete the quest. Having similar problem with white wolf pelt. Received it once, died on way back to turn it in withoit saving (Stupid on my part) but no matter how many times i kill it i do not get a white wolf pelt. HELP!!! Love this game but do not want to start over.

Could just be horrible random gen luck on the white wolf pelts.

As for Forgotten Lore, it might be that you haven't advanced the quest far enough to make the journal spawn. Could you post your current journal entry for the quest? Also, had you ever seen the journal and maybe your inventory was full, so it dropped.

If it is a problem, David can get you squared away but he will need your save backup data, so check the forum for more on that.

as the journal spawns fine for thousands of players (just checked, over a hundred only today), chances are you died, and then didn't start the quest again after reload, so it didn't spawn. Is that possible?

As for white wolf pelt, chance is 35%. It is not so rare to kill 5-6 of them and not getting a pelt.

it is very possible I could have dropped it. I reached the body on a couple of occasions very near death and was picking up treasure and dying left and right so it is possible I already picked it up but dropped it. I died very often in the the process of doing the quest. I do know the quest is still active. How do I get my save backup data.

That's the right entry for the journal to spawn. One crossed off the list.

Are you sure you are checking the right corpse (southern most area, room with sarcophagi, corpse in the western dead end)? If I recall, there is a chest near the corpse, so maybe you were looking there? Just trying to eliminate the next logical issue as debugging of this quest has been extensive.

Third time a charm. Do not know what i did different this time but for grins and giggles went through level again and when i got to body it was there. I did discover two hidden rooms. Do not know if that did it but either way i got the journal and working on finding the third lost person. Thanks for helping.

No i thought the same thing. I waited till the picture of the body showed on upper right and there was nothing there. But this time it was. Thank you.

Might have been resolved if you rested or enough in game time passed to 'reset' the spawns.
