Finding Adaon after capture

Adaon left me after I freed him from prison. I am trying to find him. He said something about where he had to go, but I did not write it down. Where can I find him. I have quite a bit of gear I am holding until I can find him.

New Garand. You may have to fully complete A mysterious letter for him to appear. He is usually near Trader Pink though I've seen him on the bridge before.

Currently, if you return above ground without freeing Adaon from the cage, he will effectively be lost as a companion choice. There has been mention of his reappearance at a later point if the game if abandoned, but it is not possible now.

If you have left him, it is advised to go back to an earlier save if possible to free him. He is a rather useful companion, and opens up a few unique quests/conversations.
