It seems like every game has a wiki these days. Except this one! :) Would you be willing to host a wiki on exiledkingdoms.com, or shall enthusiastic players like myself have to third-party it up on a free wiki-hosting site?

I will enable one soon which everyone will be able to contribute to, give me a little time, however, as I'm extremely busy with the next updates...

Thanks, there's no way I could myself have time to generate it :D

David, you sound like a very busy person, I propose: just open a wiki, even on wikia, let us do the work.

I actually created an Exiled Kingdoms wiki on Wikia after I made this post. I went on a business trip and wasn't able to edit it for the past couple weeks, however.

http://exiledkingdoms.wikia.com/

I think it would be better to wait for David to create one on his domain, but I chose Wikia because it should be easy enough to port content over after he does.

I also didn't post about it before because I wanted to give David a chance to chime in about using game assets (images, text from in-game, etc.) on the wiki.

Wow! Having supportive and proactive players like you really is my biggest motivation to keep doing my best :)

Okay, since abstractsense seems to have moved things from abstract to concrete, there's two major points to decide here.

1) Where to host it. Obviously having it at my server has advantages (greater control, no ads, etc) but maybe having it on wikia can mean a more valuable backlink for search engines. and links are important nowadays. I have to talk to a friend one of these days, which is a SEO expert, and after that I'll decide.

2) Game resources. Texts are no problem, I can prepare a pack with all the files including item descriptions, classes skills, etc. Same with the graphics I did myself, I'll upload them all for wiki collaborators. But there's many game graphics that are open assets under CC-BY-SA license, meaning authors must be credited. I have to consult wether we can put a general "disclaimer" linking to a credits page like this one, or if each image mst be individually credited; in the later case, it's going to be a LOT of work to identify each individually.

I'll do some research on both points and then come back here to let you know. Thanks again, folks :)

From SEO perspective, this isn't your main concern, because you have exiledkingdoms domain, which is also name of the game, and you use it only for this game.

In future, if you'll have more games, you'll probably register additional domains for them.

Your site is highly visible for anyone who searches for "exiled kingdoms" (keywords for use in search engines). Check it with Google, you have first place here and with Google play store.

Also, you're not trying to build website that competes in general RPG, you're supporting this one game.

So, in my opinion, use some wiki software and install it on your domain under wiki subdomain, after that link it in all your headers, footers, where you find it appropriate. It's the best solution from SEO and other points.

To build SEO reputation you'll need advertising your game in specialized sites, forums etc that focus on gaming, RPG, mobile phones, android... But, this is different story and you could use help from someone, so you could concentrate on working on game(s).

That is, mostly, my point of view as well. Will make a decision soon.

I will stick this post, for reference and discussion of the future wiki.

However, I will not set it up until, at least, version 0.8 is out in April. the reason is, 0.8 will include the mage class, advanced skills, and some crafting, plus I may review some of the existing areas and make changes to itemization in them. I don't want you guys having to re-check everything in the wiki every time I update the game, so a more complete version must be reached first.

Wow great idea. Can't wait for the new update and wiki to come out, don't rush take your time. Great game!!

Is that the next update schedule release date, April?
Will there be one before then?

I release updates with every 5-10 days, but they're part of a bigger "version". for instance, today I'm going to release another update, with a new dungeon and some fixes, but we still haven't reached 0.7. Check this:
