Does how you kill a monster affect drop rates?

Hi,
I was wondering about drop rates and I was wondering if how you kill a monster affects what you receive as a reward. For example if you one hit kill a monster do you get a better drop rate or reward?
or if your henchman kills a monster do you get a lower drop rate or a lesser reward?
Also if you go into a dungeon with an empty backpack do you get better treasure?
Thanx for a great game !

The answer to all questions is no... it is a straight percentage based chance. In other words pure luck for anything that is not a certain guaranteed drop.

Are the treasure items generated before you enter the dungeon or after you kill a monster?

Containers upon entering the dungeon. Monster drops on death, I think... I know containers for a fact. You need to sleep to reset the dungeon once you enter it.

That has not been my experience.
I just saved before going into Bluerock ,looking for assassin gear.I went to the 2 rooms that have nightblades and one room that has a chest I know sometimes drops assassin gear.
Unfortunatly after a dozen tries of getting almost the exact same drops I just teleported back to town.
Then I tried several more times this morning with a little luck but still a lot of the same drops of nada or repeats of the boots and pants.
I did manage to score the hood in a mob of outlaws outside bluerock and almost went back to town to reset.
So whats up with the low drop rates?
Do I need to save at town and try my luck the long way to bluerock each time cause it doesn't seem to be working the way I had hoped.
Still love the game I just hate doing the same thing over and over again hoping for a different result (a clinical definition of insanity comes to mind) treasure wise.
Thanx and have a great weekend everyone.

It is 100% confirmed that containers' contents are generated when the map populates (you enter the area). Once they are set, only sleeping (12hr for sure does it, unconfirmed on 6hr) or reloading a save.

Members have mentioned a 'save before killing a tough monster' to get different drops, leading to the assumption that enemy drops are generated upon death.

ShadowJack, your experience can most likely be explained by the common items having high drop rates and thus a random generation will always likely include the same high probability items. But even if the gold is anything different, it confirms the chest was regenerated and the contents have changed.

Most of the rarer drops have %s in the single digits (have been told by David 5% on some), so it will take quite a few runs to see even one piece of the set, let alone the exact piece you may be looking for.
