Do stat boosting items not count towards unlocking skills?

Hello! So I currently have a lvl 10 rogue with 5 AGI. I bought the +1 AGI belt from the guild thinking I could buy the Flurry skill which reguires 6 AGI. But to my surprise it won't allow me to learn the skill.

Is this really how it works? do I actually have to waste more points on AGI to learn the skill? Also, to any rogue players here is the skill worth the trouble? because leveling is very very slow and every skill point counts. I thought I could play on hard for my first playthrough but I'm having a very hard time with a melee rogue.

They don't. Only the ap-invested trait points count.

IMO, flurry is well worth the AGI. It's just about the largest DPS boost you can get. Oftentimes, it's just the extra amount of firepower needed to defeat mobs or tougher encounters. Cool down doesn't really matter much since you can just kite the enemies around while waiting for the skill to go off cool down.

Do you remember how many points it requires to go from 5 AGI to 6?
I'm wondering if I should just respec since I have some points on the other traits
that might not be as useful as I thought.

STATS:
STR-1
END-2
AGI-5
INT-1
AWA-2
PER-2

6 points to get from 5 to 6. That's 21 total AP in AGI.

Just keep a backup save file and respec to see if you like the skill.

I doubt it is worth to invest in flurry until you maxed out criticals and duel.

While investing in critical and duel BEFORE investing in Flurry seems the more popular route, Flurry shows a notable combat improvement even before critical and duel.

If you're not having any fun, I suggest trying a Melee Warrior (they take a beating). If you're willing to press on, the Melee Rouge gets a lot of good agility weapons out there plus the +2 Agility belt (which gives +2 to defense and +2 to light weapons).

You might need to level up a bit. Get a few more levels and you might see the tide turning in your favor.

Also, what's your equipment like? You might be able to improve your combat effectiveness with some minor adjustments to your equipment. For example, is your element resistance matched up with what your fighting? Are you using a light weapon (with your agility at 5, you get +5 with light weapons). Etc.
