Deaths in Phadabar area

This is not a complain post about the difficulty, I just thought that it might be an interesting thread to share how much I died during my first exploration of this area.

Note that I play on Brutal difficulty.

!! Major spoilers for a lot of the important battles in Phadabar, so I highly recommend only reading this after fully completing that area !!

- COMBAT DEATHS -

Death to Geldryn bonewarden in front of the ruins: 2
From the moment that you see her and her men, you immediately see that it is a tough fight, and she doesn't dissapoint.
This probably would be higher, if I didn't decide to leave and return later after she kicked my ass for the second time.
It probably is one of the tougher fights in this area, the combination of stun, poison and high damage can be deadly.
The fact that she was an honorable foe really helped me to respect the fight, and it's a shame that we had to kill her.

Death to ruins ghosts: 2
Both of these deaths are mainly because I was caught by surprise by the ghosts while exploring (you would think that I would learn the second time).
Because of their high damage and paralysis, they can be deadly when you are unprepared, certainly since they surround you and attack multiple party members at once.
Still, both times when I reloaded and did the fight properly, I was able to dispatch these undead threats without too much struggle.

Death to snake queen: 1
This one I only lost because I didn't expect the ambush.
The snakes got the drop on me and dropped a few of my casters before my turn even started.
From this battle onwards, my Burglar got a permanent spot at the backrow of my group so I wouldn't be caught by something like this again.

Death to deserters: 1
While I expected the ambush, I didn't expect them to be so tanky.
Even the archers have surprisingly much armor and health (which I probably should have expected from a Mercian legion)
After this loss I decided to upgrade my gear, and I was able to win this battle and all following Decurion battles without issues.

Death to Helliant ambush: 1
The Helliant itself wasn't too much of a threat, if I didn't encounter him after already expending a lot of WP and resources traversing through the grey mist.
I got really close to defeating him too, though I had some unlucky hit rolls in the end and he just managed to wipe my party.
Perhaps there would have been more deaths here, but I was never able to find that out because he is bugged and despawned when reloading.

Death to Helliant altar: 1
A great final battle for the area.
At first I underestimated the fight a bit, since I had killed a bunch of Helliants and spiders already at this point.
But that was until I realized that the swarm of spiders made it much harder to focus down the Helliant.
I killed all the spiders and got the Helliant to 12hp, but then my potions ran out and he did manage to wipe my party.
Though luckily I was able to complete it after a hard fought battle in my second attempt.

- EXPLORATION DEATHS -

Death to drowning: 3
This one is on me, two times I tried swimming somewhere without a water breathing potion, and the third time I didn't bring enough water breathing potions.
It's also from before the water breathing potion rework, with the new 10 charges timer it goes so much more smoothly.
That was a big improvement.

Death to getting down from the Nedolen: 5
I said at the start that this wasn't a complain thread, but why is it so difficult to get down from the Nedolen?
Maybe this is on me and I missed an easy ledge somewhere, but at so many points trying to jump down lead to death.
In the end I finally did find a fall that I survived with my weakened party, but I do feel like this shouldn't have been one of the hardest challenges of this area.

hmmm right. The idea is jump down on water, but I should probably make it easier.
