Companion special skills

Any idea if possible to add special skills to companions just like main hero due to the fact that the slots are available in the same fashion, or untouchable for now pending a potential update?

Not presently.

In a future update David has said that they will have quests we can complete to obtain specific advanced skills for our companions.
