BUG: Shady Traveller Extra Shady

I met a shady traveller or trader or whatever at the cross roads to go to New Garand or Kingsbrige who refused to show me his wares. He asked me if I wanted to take a look and I said yes but then it just would cut back to us standing there. I tried several times to check out his stuff and it wouldn't work. He was wearing all black (don't know if that helps). Shady Indeed.

I don't think that shady traveller is buggy character. Sometimes you are lucky to meet ambassador of Forsaken, instead trader. No more, no less.

Yes, I am well aware of that. But this guy didn't show me his wares OR try and stab me. I would have preferred to have been stabbed than got nothing at all from the interaction.

I had similar encounters ones in a while with other travelling merchants as well. You choose the dialogue option to see his wares - and nothing happens. So I think it's a general bug not only limited to shady travellers. I even think I read about the reason for this behavior in another thread, namely the presence of two random-encounter merchants of the same kind in one map. May it be that there was another shady traveller around during your encounter?

Actually now that you mention it there was a travelling armorer close by at the time so I guess that explains it. I never buy anything from any of these peddlers anyways. I've already got the best gear.

Whenever something like this happens, create game backup (not cloud one) and send report to David (red support in-game button), he for sure would like to hear about situation like this, especially if it could be repeated.

This is the best way bugs like this, if they are actually bugs, get squashed.

This is probably the oldest bug in the game... still eludes me after so long. On ocassion it affects town traders as well.
