Even though they're pretty resistant to toxic damage, I think the Beast Slayer III makes Melporth's sword worth it.

Equipment Wiki is here.

When you say "tank warrior" does that mean a warrior with a shield and a 1-H weapon, such as a longsword?

Easy answer is it really comes down to playing style, and personal preference. Melporth's Sword and the Adamantite Longsword do comparably well. Note, a game mechanic may alter which of the two does best. The Phantom Longsword is objectively far less effective in the Citadel.

Melporth's Sword loses most of it's +7 toxic damage against the enemies in the Sunken Citadel, but gains the +6 Beast Killer 3 damage. So it comes out slightly ahead when looking at DPS (See Note). Also, because the resistance to toxic damage, Cleave doesn't gain as much of an extra benefit from the elemental damage. Each enemy hit by Cleave gets the full elemental damage, not a reduce amount like physical damage. But since Citadel enemies are resistant to Toxic, that extra damage is reduced. In some areas that slight increase can make a difference in comparing weapons. Charge and Whilwind do not deal elemental damage. Warriors relaying on no offensive skills or Duel will have a higher effective damage output with Melporth's Sword.

Adamantite Longsword does slightly less DPS in the Sunken Citadel but it can be quite useful for skill heavy warriors. The Adamantite Longsword does pure physical damage. This attack skills like Charge, Whirlwind, and Fury get a much larger boost as the bonus applies to all damage from those attack's. Elemental damage doesn't get boosted. (See Note). Warriors using these skills a lot will tend to have a slightly higher effective damage output with the Adamantite Longsword.

Phantom Longsword isn't even in the running. While it's a great sword for ghosts, and Ark enemies, it struggles in the Citadel. It has a lower DPS than the other two weapons that is further reduced with it's elemental attack being reduced by several minotaur types have shock resistance.

Note: Does the Beast Killer attribute damage bonus get added to the attack BEFORE or AFTER the damage boost from Charge, Whirlwind or Fury? I --think-- it's after but I could be in error. If the damage boost is added AFTER, than the above will hold true. If the Beast Killer damage is added before the skill boost in damage, than Melporth's Sword edges out as a better choice.
