The Berzerker is the opposite of the Agility-based warrior. He is exceptionally strong, has mastered two-handed weapons, and uses skills as a primary focus of damage. This is in contrast to simple DPS-based builds. Instead, skills that boost raw damage are combined to do some serious damage quickly.
The Berzerker needs a high strength. He also needs to focus on Whirlwind, Charge, and Bash - In order of that importance. Whirlwind has a chance of stun plus a raw damage bonus. Charge hits a line with a larger bonus in damage. Bash can be used at the beginning to set the combo up, or at the end to finish it with a stunner.
The trick is to combine them. This will max out at +280% raw damage to one target if timed correctly - as well as +120% to the group around you. Whirlwind then Charge, or Charge then Whirlwind - either way has the same effect on one target. All three of these skills can be executed before the opponent can hit you back once.
The Barbarian build needs to focus on Endurance after Strength, with spare points going into the remaining stats. Massive Criticals and Precision Strikes should only have level 1 each, until Whirlwind and Charge are at least 3.
To survive groups of powerful opponents, a high endurance and the Cleave skill help. Endurance will help you survive the groups's remaining attacks while Cleave will hit a lot of them for bonus damage.
The result is a Warrior who can literally charge right into a group of opponents and inflict massive damage. His blows will largely ignore armor. He can take hits from anyone who lives and deliver good damage to the group with Cleave.
I played through the entire game with this warrior build. Sometimes I boosted up with armor or damage potions, if necessary. In the end-game, you end up killing entire groups of enemies in one hit.
I used a Greataxe of Falling Stars and Steel Plate Armor until I was able to find a suit of Full Legion Armor. The Executioner's Axe is the ideal weapon for this build because it inflicts additional damage when the opponent's health is below 30%, which helps finish off bosses. It's a Non-Elemental damage boost, so nothing can resist it.
This is a refinement to an older build I had posted here before. I post it now to show that one handed Agility-based Icicle or Sonnet builds aren't the only powerful builds out there. The Agility-based builds will always be inferior to high armor opponents compared to a Strength-Based Two-Hand Berzerker.
