I don't know what you're smoking but exiled Kingdom should have been your baby this other game you're making may look and sound great but it's nothing compared to what you've made what you haven't finished

"..... what you haven't finished..."

EK is on v1.3.1182 (Apple v1.2-ish) so the game has been finished and had extra content after the game.

Old school RPG's were designed to have endings, and not never ending content.

Dude, EK has been complete for years, and then it got multiple free expansions as gifts to players. This is more than finished lol. You might be confused with live, online games that never end, like Minecraft or Fortnite. This is a story-driven RPG, it has a real storyline, like a novel in which you play the main character. The novel has reached its conclusion.

The awesome thing is, David's next game will be set in the aftermath of EK! We'll get to explore a new story in the same universe! It's going to be even better :)

this is very cool, I hope there will be something in the spirit of divinity original sin 2 but in the style of EK, with this incredible atmosphere, a variety of enemies, dungeons, items and classes, with this wonderful humor and side quests, sometimes touching and sometimes masterpiece absurd. I still really hope that over time we will see the expansion of EK, because the global map of the Varranar continent contains more. a lot of interesting things, islands, the territory beyond the mountains of Zamor, Freeport and Liberty, there is still a lot of interesting content that can be done. when the quest with the temple of the sleepers was added, the amount of content and lore just blew my mind, it was something incredible. Mercia has huge potential with civil war and legion deserters.

Yeah, seriously? Exiled Kingdoms is not finished. There are how many more areas that haven't been opened. I don't see how it's "complete" it may be playable and you can finish the story, but it's not *done*
It's an amazing game and I would love it if the promised crafting was added, at least. But it's not about that. It's because there are quite clearly still some things missing and I am looking forward to the day when Exiled Kingdoms has it's rightful place in it's own spotlight again - being worked on and finished.

The game is not the same as the open world and again, it's not the same thing to ask for the game to be finished while actually thinking "I want all the expansions I can imagine".

The game is linear. The Greenheads forrest, Sewer of Horrors, heck even Icemist, Freetown and Nivarian are not necessary areas to finish the story, just nice worldbuilding to make the game better. I would actually dare to say all you actually need is:
Lannegar–Kingsbridge–New Garand–Northern Jabal Hills–Get shards from dragons–Friguld—Dragon Mountains coast–Ashen Cape–Ark of Lothassan.
The rest is just expanded world, not necessary for "the game". Sure, we miss half of Mercia, Orc Kingdom and a good chunk of mountains, but that's just expansions.

"Complete" isn't defined by how much of the map can be physically visited. It sounds like you're taking expectations from other games where "if you can see it you can go there" was the focus. Not all games use that definition to determine development status.

What is up with y'alls attitudes? If you're that upset, walk away for a few minutes and cool down. Developers aren't your personal servants. We want them to make good games. Being rude just stresses people out, and they already have enough stress going on like the rest of us.

I wanted more from this game, that's simply all there is to it.
I'm not upset or disappointed because this is at the very least a top 3 game in mobile imo
but when you see things like; the backstory of adaon, the observatory scene, the places in the map that are not explorable, the minotaur backstory and the minotaur kingdom. When you see those things and learn about those things you just can't help but have the feeling of wanting more, I mean I haven't even seen the king of new garand. I once even time skipped (by sleeping at inn) to after 10 years after the ending so I can see if main character's sister is actually available to be a mage companion because she said after ten years she would be available after doing mandatory work. Just shows how desperate I was for more content lmao, I slightly care less about this now because it was a year ago when I was crazy about but still. I check like every month if there is an update, checking for hope lmao.

I am glad to hear the game did that for you. But look at it this way, I considered the game finished at version 1.0, in the sense that the game offered a complete 65-hour epic with a huge map for 4 bucks and plenty of replayability.

Regarding "loose ends", they are always part of well built gameworlds. The world must create the illusion that it doesn't revolve around the player actions, and that pretty much requires some things are always out of reach. You can't talk to all the Grand Dukes in Baldur's Gate I, just to the one that is part of the story. You can't even see all of the Morrowind province in a game called "Morrowind", just the isle of Vvanderfell! Those games constantly mention characters, places and events that the player can't witness himself, yet were completed too, and they got large expansions... which I also made, and for free to all players that already owned the game. 1.1 + 1.2 + 1.3 involved over a year of work, for very close to zero income, plus a delay of my next game. Yet I am glad I made them, for there were still important narrative and mechanical elements that the game needed.

I believe I am not done with EK. Once I am done with Archaelund, I will likely go back to it one way or another. I really don't know at this point if I will rework it from scratch or make EK2, or online, or simply expand the old code (I doubt it, it is already very obsolete and hard to update), but certainly it is my intention now to at some point, create more of EK.

Please try to stay on topic, too!
