You need to get the statue to remove his protection.

To do this you need to go to the basement and talk to the lawyer.

Then read the book in the abbot's room.

Then go back to the manifestation of the statue !

Tried it over and over again. I killed the lawyer and am going to try again

Don't kill the lawyer this time. It's the conversation optiond that progress the quest.

Why would you kill him...... what if that was your sisters friend working for the devil? Yea that's right! How would she feel?! I mean I also killed him but that was an accident... I.... sliped on some magma and my sword fell into his head... but I didn't mean it!

I have tried to find the stairs. I have a 31% find secert doors. I have walked the walls in all of the small rooms on the west end. I got nothing. Do I need to kill anyone before it will appear?
