Dungeons and quests are best place to find better gear. Towns (and traveling merchants) will have some gear, but in general it's best to buy from towns only as a last resort, or if you have a pile of gold.

For the early game, exploring the orc area near Kingsbridge and the first desert dungeon will be good sources of improvements.

Also, if you haven't gotten a companion yet, that should be a good thing to improve your combat ability. Gris, a warrior, can be found near the budding colony. Adaon is found in New Garand. And Hirge is in the first desert.

Okay. It sounds like you hit the slump between the early game and the mid-game. Early game enimies are a breeze, but you keep running into things that are a bit too tough. No worries. That happens. It's a big world and not all dungeons are created equal.

The most detailed list of what equipment is located where is the The Wiki. It has equipment lists, locations, drops, etc. All the nerdy stuff a person needs.

Based your build above, I strongly encourage you to start investing in STR and Whirlwind. You have a pretty solid well rounded build, so dedicating some STR for the next few levels will make a huge difference in your damage output.

I like Gris. She's my favorite Companion. But as a 2-H Warrior, you might want to try working with Hirge. She won't do as much damage, but she has heal, which is nifty.

Have you checked out the dungeon crypt in the desert? That has some decent drops. Same with the dungeon in the center of the dead forest. Also, for your level, you could check Azagul Tomb. It might be a decent balance for you.

One last bit, keep an eye on element types. Sometimes new players forget to check their combat logs for what type of damage they are actually getting. Match your rings, etc for the damage. I.e. Death resistence when fighting ghosts, toxic resists when fighting spiders etc.

OH! You're level 9. Have you tried the Fort Assault yet? Do that. Than you can join Warrior's Guild. That's all geared around Level 9.

The undead dungeons in the desert, the dead forest or the Nivar wetlands. Skeletons drop sheilds and bows. Plus if you haven't raided those places yet, you try knicking away at those quests.

Not really sure where "high-class" got thrown into the mix. Doesn't seem to be an organic, or intuitive label.
