1000 Fire Damage? (Spoilers)

I'm not sure if this belongs in the bugs section or here in the general board so here goes. At the end of the new Deadwood dungeon where the Dragoons are located are fire pillars that seemed to deal 10-20 damage around the edges of the pillars. This is similar to the flames in the tower and deep cauldron, however unlike those areas my NPCS wasn't allowed to revive while stuck in the flames in this new dungeon. It didn't make sense at first due to the NPC barely being engulfed, but I realized the pillars probably did more damage in the center of them due to the center being white.

Now this is where I decide to risk 20 minutes or progress and push the NPC out the obstacle. With full health(400+), near 120 fire resistance and confidence I attempt the maneuver, because surely there's no way this obstacle can instantly kill me the way it's instantly killing my NPC with around 130 health and 40 fire resistance right? Wrong. I'm dealt with 1143 fire damage and 99% ego damage. Was this intentional or a bug some how? I've never been one hit at full health before.

Could be a bug. There was a previous report of lava doing 1000+ damage in the fire part of the Tower, and Gorx Lair. I couldn't get it to replicate though and I'm not sure what David thought of this.

It is a bug, my apologies. Very rarely, it happens that an environment effect does such absurd damage. I've had 3 reports of this in the last 6 months, never managed to find the cause. I'll keep looking for it, now that many other bugs are out of the way.

It happened to last night in the acid room in the poisoned river quest dungeon. I had just drank a speed potion, stepped into the acid and died immediately.

Used skills but didn't think to test potions. Will give that a testing. Good to know itcan be done in any area damage as the poison room in crim valley is easy testing ground.

David, while you are looking at this part of the code, could you please apply a name 'value' for area damage. The battle log reads weirdly when there is no noun before the damage outputs.

I was in the security room, if that matters. Gris was down in the switch room, if that matters. Cleric, level 11.

yes it looks very odd without the noun.

A similar log update i would like to suggest:
- When trap is detected, the trap level is shown in the log
- When the character steps on trap (for whatever reason), the damage appears but not the level of the trap. Please add the trap level along with the name. It is helpful in the area with multiple traps.
