Q: Isn't the loot from beating an rumor boss supposed to be locked in to prevent re-loading the game to try to get better drops?
On current play through, killed the Lich Rumor Boss in the Abbey (rather easy as I spammed Paralyze Undead scrolls on him) and got the Heroic Helm as a drop. Given how "easy" the Lich was, I opted to take on more of the Abbey and got killed for my arrogance (turns out running out of paralyze scrolls while overwhelmed by ghosts is bad). On re-load, I killed the Lich and got the Soul Cleaver, which struck me as odd. Out of curiosity, I reloaded and got the the Soul Cleaver (and the exact drops) three more times in a row.
Why oddity: If the item drops are locked, shouldn't the same items dropped each time? If the the drops aren't locked, than it's rather statistically odd to get the same exact three drops in a row after the first.
The only thing I can thing of, other than just randomness, is the game locks the drops at re-load, not the save, but that seems a code oddity on to itself.
Just curious.
Oh, and the Paralyze scroll, while expensive, is becoming my favorite reason to have INT 3, more so than than the summons and the Restoration Scroll.
