In order to make it more fair for melee fighters to deal with ranged attackers or mages there needs to be a slower, more defined animation in the enemy sprites to give us warning. And a slower projectile speed of their attacks in order to give us a shadow of a chance to get close to them without face-tanking the blows.

Agreed. Noted. Overall, I have a lot of work to do with animation syncing.

As you suggested, since last update (0.6.865) animation was synced so the projectile comes out near the end of the firing animation.

I didn't slow them down, at least not for now. Eventually each projectile type will have different speeds, some will be extremely damaging but slower. I think it will be fun.
