(Don't worry, my initial post doesn't have any detailed spoiler at all. However, do cautious in scrolling down this thread because it has so many spoiler bombs, so proceed with your own discretion)

Finally, it's here! After waiting for (not) so long, David (praised be your development) finally give us the rest of the companion backstory for us to enjoy. And here's my two cents of the update (Note: I don't know if it's just me or not, but you need to go for Adaon's quest first, then you can get Grissenda's quest)

1. Adaon Story
I'd never thought that Adaon has a different side of him the entire time, even though the community has been shit-talking him from the beginning of the beta (I'm looking at you VDX ;) ) but after this quest, I'm pretty confident that the community's opinion of him will instantly change (in the good way too). Still, this quest is pretty fun to finish (You might get excited, depending on what you'll do in the end part of the quest) and the item rewards that you get is quite generous, despite its easiness to finish halfway through (You might need some poisonous weaponry after that, just saying)

>REWARDS
a. Items & Weaponry
Finally, David recognizes the least Class in the game :D , I'm almost worried that you'll not give them some weapon choice but yet David deliver justice! (There's also a stone, yeah I don't know what's the reaso-OH MY GOD, THE PRICE WHAT IN THE WORLD?)

b. Skillset
HOLY SHIT, I don't usually tell something that's overpowered. But HOOOOOOLY BALLS this is so good, Adaon's Buff finally useful as an actual Rogue Class after getting abandoned for years and called "Cleric's Helper" by the others, but today is a good day for Adaon.

2. Grissenda Story
I knew it, Everybody knew it, Grissenda isn't really good at hiding her bloodline. And yet, I'm really surprised the story is changed upside down to a point of a nostalgia for me because the story is so familiar and hits home for me (I even thought of meeting Vlad Tepes at some point  ). Not only that, but the rewards that await you are pretty Grissenda-esque and suitable for her. Despite that, I've got pretty irritated halfway the quest due to the certain enemy is "blocking" the objective and the way of stealth is pretty hard due to the mobs placement are everywhere @.@ (I think you need some "shining" weapon, but I ended up never tried it lol). Still, the aftermath is pretty heart-warming and I can't wait to see the continuation of Grissenda's Story Arc (if David pleases, that is)

>REWARDS
a. Items and Weaponry
You got the Sonnet version for Warrior and slightly buffed version of Maul of Corrosion, which is pretty good (but not really impacted that much, considering I can't equip it and Warrior already have a LOT of arsenals, but to be really honest. I'm not complaining :p)

b. Skillset
The assumptions of "Grissenda's only way to deal heavy damage is to have 2-handed weaponry" will be vanished after this, since Grissenda has some skill to balance an equally defensive and offensive trait at the same times. Pretty good

Pretty ground-breaking update, I might say. this might change the meta of companion priority a little bit and I can't wait to see some Adaon build :D

Lol, it looks like a diary of a 14 year old girl... Maybe you should reduce the colors, just a tip

ps: it's feedback so I'll move your post

I gotta take my hat off to David for Castle Storme. It was a place i've been looking forward to ever since I first started playing, and it's better than i thought it would be.

Wonderfully brutal in the good old EK way (depending on your level) and a nice backstory for Gris. Really good.

I've not completed Adons yet, but im looking forward to it aswell.

Great update David, cheers.

I put a color for a reason (either hint or tips) and I've written something like this before and no one said "it looks like a diary..." or something, so I don't really get it, maybe try to understand why I color them? :)
as for Feedback, I didn't suggest anything in my writing at all and I have a separate note for a beta-test forum later, but whatever (I didn't want to argue with another Moderator zzz)

also, please try to keep spoilers to a minimum (saying what you'll found is [for me at least] a bit much)

That's just my opinion as a user, so it's not arguing with a mod, you can use as much colors as you want!

That was just a friendly tip from me as a user, you used 6 colors. I won't recommend to do it to anyone, it's a question of layout. Never use more than 3 different elements. Break that rule only if it's necessary.

Just a tip for the future, 6 elements just look infantile and never use that for presentations or at work

Ps: The telescope is not an item, it's just a puzzle

uhhh, what?
I didn't bring about "arguing with a mod" in color management, I bring it up when you move my post to a Feedback subforum when I didn't really give any "feedback" (it was more like a "reactionary post") in it

also, the "6 elements just look infantile and never use that for presentations or at work" is a little bit too much. We are in a game forum, not a workspace. And I'm giving some opinion, not presenting a report. Tone it down m8

I moved it to feedback since it is a feedback.

Sorry if you feel offended, I never meant it that way. I won't discuss about that any longer. Thx for the post ;)

I'm real glad to read you folks liked it, there's a lot of blood, sweat and tears put into these three little companion stories, and when I'm writing/designing them there's no way to tell if it's going to be enjoyable or not. I always felt this was a part of the story that needed to materialize and be part of the game, and now it's there!

Re: My Take on the Companion Update of Grissenda and Adaon [SPOILER FREE]

I had this uneasy feeling throughout second part of griss quest that some alternative, more evil outcome is missing. I mean,
an option to help vampires, perhaps losing griss as an companion in a process, but gaining vampire warrior companion instead? I felt that lore-wise I didn't know enough about vampires to consider them enemy. That would require more time and writing though, and I don't think David has much of it to spare given that he also works on sequel.

It doesn't change the fact that both griss and adaon quest are well thought and absorbing - great work as always David.
