Yes, I agree. Although David once said that "life is not always fair" or something like that when I pointed out that the Maul of Garrak, that has an awesome description and is a unique item, is weaker than the 2-handed bone maces found in the gorilla cave nearby Freeguld (or whatever).

David, here are few chances I would recommend or personally enjoy.

Weapons:

Wyrmslayer: fire damage from +2 to +3. Deserves to be the ultimate fire bow.
Souldrinker: please Beastslayer at level 2.
Rancor: maybe vicious 2
Justice: always believed that it comes too late to be useful. Basic damage 5-10 and fire damage 5. Yes, it intentionally makes Magma longsword obsolete.

Armors (all pieces)
Ashen Helm: shock resistance from 10 to 20. Being an end-game item, it is right that it makes Holy Helm and Tiara of Heavens obsolete.
Automated gloves: please rise up shock resistance form 9 to 15, so it is possible to get rid of Ashen Gauntlets.
Laminated Vest: I am doubtful. Maybe could have fire resistance 20 and Spirit resistance 9, making Ashen Chestplate obsolete. Not sure though.
Sorceress' Sandals: please raise poison resistance AT LEAST at 25 (mages can't use snake boots)
Shaman Boots: fire resistance to 20. Being a rare drop it deserves to be universally better than Goblin Lizardaskin Boots.
Varaol's Boots: being unique items, they tend to get useless VERY soon. Armor 3, Life +6.

About armor, it is my opinion that...
- Primeval Ice Armor set is too strong (too much armor bonus if we consider that rogues may use it) and its drop rate, except for gauntlets, is too low.
- I'd like some armor sets to be more coherent, such as Lionskin providing protection from fire only; Ashen providing protection form spark only, being a neat and straightforward upgrade of Myrosian, both then made obsolete by the Ark tech armors; Assassin's set to offer decent protection from fire and acid only, not from cold.
- I'd like a way to achieve a full set of Thuraman armor without having to kill Valeran to get the plate.


Rings:
Same consideration done above about rings with more than 1 resistance.
Ring of the Star Traveller: please shock reduction to 25, intentionally making Isolation rings totally obsolete.
Ring of the Bull/Holiness: horrible rewards for 30 emeralds who turn useless almost immediately due to the conflict with belts.
Here some alternative ideas:
Ring of the Bull: Armor +2, Life +5, Endurance +2, Wisdom 2, Stun Immunity.
Ring of Holiness: Armor +1, Mana +20, Death/Spirit resistance: +30, Wisdom 2. Cleric only. So it may stack with other rings and with the Ark tunic for clerics.
Arcanist's Ring of Ice/Ring of the Red Sorcerer: elemental resistance form 20 to 30, Mage only.
Ring of Mentalism: total crap.

Necklaces:
Amulet of Dark Whispers. Bit weird. Stun immunity is nice, but it looks suitable for clerics or mages only, while being an "evil" reward it should be imho more powerful.
Shiled of life: round up death resistance to 15 and add +6 life points.
Shield of the Dragon Hunter. I'd like it to have wisdom II rather than gossip II.
Charm of the Great Seer: is f**ing awesome, and the Spirit resistance makes it evne better than the Magister's Pendant that is supposed to be an end-game reward. Yes, "personality +2" is nice but it does not stack with some rings. May you add a way to have it without killing the minotaurs?
Imperial college emblem: death resistance from 10 to 15, so it can free some slot in inventory when using a mage or cleric.

What's the meaning of making items so rare that you almost never find them?
The rogue has quite an handicap about equipment: in fact, it has a more limited choice of armor offering protection from elements than other classes (and it is right too, since it often has the best 1-hand weapons) and must have to rely on rings, necklaces and mantles, making his life harder about defense.

Anyway, other items to report: the two Tiaras (of Heavens and of Mentalist) are a bit too similar to each other, while the Tiara of the Mentalist is an easy reward found inside a dead frozen body. Higher armor class, extra mana and spirit protection make it interesting, but it misses the bonus to Intelligence, the shock ward is lower as well as the Detection ability. I'd try to make them radically different. Maybe the TotM may become an enhanced version of Thuramiam Plate Helm for mages and clerics only, guarded by a strong evil spirit or something.

David, just to know, may I ask why have you never included any item providing life point or mana regeneration, any pair of boots of speed, any hi-tech shield in the Ark and no item with Wisdom III or any other high-level bonus?

Sometimes it is like you are afraid of putting too much power into equipment while in other cases you unleash your creativity generating overpowered stuff, like the Queen's Heart, that is drastically more powerful than any heavy sword, axe or hammer except the Adamantine and Ark stuff.

Aside from quests, I think it is good that the "Unique" bosses also drop "Unique" items as well. And instead of adding more unique items, why not make them top class tier so we are not hoarding junks in the vault?

Yep! My same thought: items should be distributed like a pyramid or a cone.
At the beginning of the game you need to have a wide variety of choice so that you may customize your character and nobody has exactly the same equipment, but as the game progresses, new items should allow players to totally get rid of the early-stages stuff, narrowing down a bit the list in favor of more quality.

David, just for you to understand: I have my 4 vaults filled up in this way:
vault 1: rings and jewels for protection
vault 2: weapons for me and my companion
vault 3: clothes and armor for my character
vault 4: clothes and armors for my companion.
Considering that there are 4 columns for 5 lines (perfect to store 1 helm, armor, gloves, boots and leggings for each column) and 6 elements, it is a pain to store everything useful found along the game that may turn useful to face specific situations.

Yo Justice in need to be upgraded. Yeah its cool vs undead but Magma sword/Fire Axe still better than SWORD BLESSED BY NIVARIA. Its all what i need to say. Im out.

I think the scrolls of summoning need some balancing, mainly prices:
Scroll: Summon Wolf(level 5) - 250 gold
Scroll: Summon dire Wolf(level 7) - 500 gold
Scroll: Summon earth elemental(level 9) - 900 gold
Scroll: Summon fire/ice elemental(level 10) - 400 gold

the price is high and I spent days walking from whitetower's inn to the mountains and back just to slay wyverns. And it actually conflicts with my belt, but I'm now going to buy an agility belt, but I don't agree it is useless. You can take a different belt to increase agility. with the ring I have kept the bonus of ring of vitality on th hp and can improve the armor getting the belt from kardagis. characters based on agility could find it even more useful than my 2h warrior EDIT actually my plan failed. I didn't remember that kardagis only sells objects to the members of the seventh house.
