Hello,
First time poster. Really like this game. I'm concerned about drop rates, and would like to understand them better please. Playing on Hard difficulty. I started documenting the drops from either Carrion Eaters or Devourers in the Askatir Mine after spending hours getting the first 2 carapaces of the 4 required for the Shielding the Mind quest. Here are the results, is this typical? Seems like a 2% drop rate for a quest item.

Try Imperial Fortress, it's way easier to access and rerun the dungeon rather than facing the spiders along the way in Askatir Mines.

I just checked. The effective drop rate should be about 11% and 19% for Carrion Eaters and Devourers, respectively. So it seems that you have either been very unlucky or you didn't get fresh spawns each time you entered the mine.

The latter thing happens if you simply reload a save and enter the mine again without sleeping at an inn (or having been killed) beforehand. If the dungeon isn't properly reset, the drops (or lack of drops) will always be the same, no matter how often you try.

Thanks. I think I've learned a bit and think it was just what you were saying, not getting new drop resets.

I've since been grinding the Minotaur dungeon for xp/gold, clearing most of the first floor, then resting at the inn, and I get horns all the time, which I was struggling with before when I wasn't...playing quite right.

Thanks for the thoughts!
